LHU Finishes Spring Season at Bucknell

After the Bucknell scrimmage I was extremely happy I thought everything we worked on throughout this spring season started to come together. We started to play really well with each other. We had many different lineups and I think we were able to play confidently and comfortable in all of them. There were times when we got ourselves into a hole mainly in serve receive but we fought back and never really seemed to get down on ourselves or frustrated with each other.  I think we were very consistent in our level of play throughout the Bucknell scrimmage. We stayed aggressive the whole time and I think the communication on the court was positive. I thought this scrimmage was a great way to end our spring season on a positive note. We showed growth and improvement and made clear the parts of our game we still needed to clean up. Now hopefully everyone will continue to work hard this summer, so when we come back in the fall we can get straight to business!

Eagles Head to Bucknell for Final Spring Game

This week we  have been preparing to take on Bucknell this Friday. We started the week off by watching film of ourselves from our past tournament at St. Francis. Taking time to sit down as a team and to discuss our goals and watch film is a great way to learn. Seeing ourselves and going over what was wrong or right about the play is the best way to learn and understand exactly what we are doing. This process can go far with helping us achieve great things. Hearing and also seeing the criticism good or bad will only help us in the end.  On Tuesday we broke down different skills that we all needed to get better at like block/defensive moves. Throughout the week we focus on our individual goals and our team goal to “Get better today.” At the end of the week we work on playing a lot of game like drills and six on six games. By doing all these things and getting better each day we are ready to walk into Bucknell with confidence and give 110% each play and to have fun.

LHU Finishes 2nd Spring Tournament

Hello everyone! I am happy to report back that we had a very successful weekend competing at St. Francis University. Surrounded by great opponents, we continued to raise our level of play and get a feel for the heights we are capable of reaching in the fall. My teammates and I set individual goals we wanted to accomplish going into the weekend, so it was really exciting to see each other strive to achieve. Also, with these predetermined goals we learned the importance of mental focus and how to handle one task at a time. All in all, we produced, we gained knowledge, and we had fun! This upcoming season just keeps looking brighter and brighter!

Haven Continues to Improve

Our previous tournament at Clarion showed us what we need to work on as a team and as individuals. This week we focused on things we need to improve. We are going into this weekend looking strong and continuing to improve our level of play. This weekend we will be playing four teams at St. Francis- two Division 1 and two PSAC schools. We are going in there with a mindset of improving, working together, and finding new weaknesses that we will work on improving for the rest of our spring season

Haven Prepares for First Spring Tournament

We are back in full swing after a week off for Spring Break. This past semester continues to fly as we work every day to improve either in the gym, or in the weight room. We set out with a goal of fully investing ourselves into training this semester and we are already reaping the benefits. Not only are we faster and stronger, but we are also mechanically and mentally better.

We look forward to this week because our first spring tournament is in Clarion this Saturday the 6th. Because we have been preparing since the first day back of second semester, we have been anxious to compete ever since, and finally we will have our chance. We are excited to see what we can do together with new combinations of people on the floor since we no longer have our graduated seniors. Most of all, I think we are excited to see how our knowledge and skill of volleyball has increased because we have wholeheartedly put in the work to be better every day.
